We make mistakes sometimes, and when we do we want to fix them quickly and openly.
How to report an error
Use our contact page, choose the subject Correction, and include the link to the story and what you believe is wrong, with a source if you have one.
What we do
- We review every report and check it against our sources.
- If the story is wrong, we correct it and add a clear correction note at the end of the story saying what changed.
- Small fixes such as typos are made without a note. The “Updated” time on the story shows when it last changed.
- If a story cannot be fixed, or should not have been published, we may remove it and explain why.
Requests to remove content
We do not remove accurate reporting because it is unwelcome. If you believe a story is unlawful or is putting someone at serious risk, tell us through the contact page and we will review it.
